About the program

User manual: User manual coming soon.

This program designs reinforcement for a 4-pile cap using the strut-and-tie model in accordance with NS-EN 1992-1-1:2004+A1+NA (Eurocode 2, Section 6.5).

Forces are transferred from the column to the piles via compression struts and tension ties. The program calculates:

  • Splitting reinforcement over piles (x and y)
  • Tension reinforcement in the bottom zone
  • Distribution reinforcement on top, sides and bottom
  • Design checks: struts, nodes and concrete stress over pile heads

After calculation, an interactive 3D model shows schematic reinforcement (ties, splitting and distribution), pile heads and a column stub. Reinforcement types can be filtered and result-table selections can be linked to the model. Foundation geometry with plan and section views is available in a separate geometry modal.

The 3D view is for illustration and quality review — not a fabrication drawing. Users who are not logged in can try the program in demo mode with fixed sample inputs.

Typical use: Design and visual review of reinforcement in a 4-pile cap using the strut-and-tie method. The 3D model is schematic — use the result tables for design values.

Inputs

  • Column load, NEd,col (kN)
  • Concrete strength, fck (N/mm²)
  • Reinforcement yield strength, fyk (N/mm²)
  • Foundation geometry and pile configuration (mm)

Outputs

  • Splitting reinforcement in x- and y-direction (count, diameter, layers)
  • Tension reinforcement bottom (count, diameter, layers)
  • Distribution reinforcement top, sides and bottom (diameter, c/c)
  • Design checks and schematic 3D reinforcement

Assumptions

  • 4 piles only – symmetric layout (1–3 piles not implemented)
  • Strut-and-tie model per NS-EN 1992-1-1:2004+A1+NA, Section 6.5
  • Concentric axial column load only (no moment or horizontal force)
